Driving Innovation in Electronics Recycling

Sims Recycling Solutions is at the forefront of improving electronic recycling processes and investing in leading separation technology. Each new Sims plant drives innovation and improves closed-loop recycling according to the most stringent environmental standards to provide you with the most efficient, effective electronic reuse and recycling services possible.

Dedicated cathode ray tube (CRT) monitor recycling facilities

The ability to provide downstream processing solutions for the leaded glass that results from CRT monitor recycling is a critical e-waste industry issue.  As a testament to our industry leadership role, Sims operates locations where we have invested in the technology necessary for the responsible recycling of this material.

Printer recycling

Printer recycling represents another difficult e-waste industry problem. Printers contain a high percentage of plastics and steel, neither of which offer significant commodity value.  Coupled with toner disposal issues, and the associated health risks, few recyclers choose to invest in a printer recycling line. Our recycling facility is outfitted with innovative equipment to responsibly tackle the challenges presented by printer recycling.

Plastic recycling - Several of our plants are spearheading and implementing best-in-class plastic separation technology, which is important for all electronic recycling, but particularly important when recycling printers. Because electronics are manufactured from multiple types of plastic efficiently separating these plastics from other commodity streams is essential to producing clean, recyclable material that increases reuse opportunities.

Our decision to develop innovative solutions to responsibly recycle even the most challenging electronic waste products gives customers confidence that all areas of our business are responsibly managed.
